George Beaumont essay, letters, and academic prospectus, ca. 1839.

This collection consists of an essay, two letters, and a school prospectus concerning the "Gainesville Female High School," ca. 1839. the essay is entitled "Points in the early History of G. Britain: Points in Early English History traced from peculiarities in our Alphabet, etc." The first letter is dated June 15, 1839 from Gainesville, Georgia and explains the essay. The second letter is dated June 19, 1839 and presents the essay to the Georgia Historical Society. The school prospectus describes the type of education to be offered at the Gainesville Female High School, and includes a handwritten list of the names of trustees, the teacher, and the principal.
